The world's oldest necklace was found during excavations in Arpachiyah (now northern Iraq) found "obsidian" (translucent black glass) in the volcanoes of Lake Van.
This necklace was made of fragments of this material and was considered a luxury among the people of Mesopotamia, very rare!
